On Thanksgiving night in 1976, The Band gathered friends and fellow musicians for a farewell concert at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom. Martin Scorsese’s film moves between electrifying performances and intimate conversations about life on the road, tracing the music and relationships that shaped the group. With guests including Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Eric Clapton, The Last Waltz turns one remarkable evening into a vivid portrait of an era in rock and roll.
